Upper School English Language Arts

Mrs. Bicknese is a master of the English language. Her deep knowledge and love of literature form the foundation of instruction. In alignment with New York State and the Archdiocese guidelines, our SJS students participate in stimulating daily lessons which focus on reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, and writing. Blended instruction, incorporating word processing and computerized programs, is crucial for the development of communication skills in a world where the ability to use devices for writing is essential. We have the capability for our youngsters to participate in NYS Computer Based Testing Program which allows us to measure growth across multiple domains. The data indicates that SJS Upper School students are growing by leaps and bounds.
