Chess Club

One of our main goals at SJS is the social and cognitive development of our students. In order to make the most of our students' limited time after school, we are reorganizing our Chess Club in order to differentiate between students of different ages and familiarity with Chess.

On Tuesdays from 3:00-4:00, we will be having FREE trial lessons with a Chess Master. These sessions are intended for children in Grades 1-4. On Thursdays from 3:00-4:00, we will be conducting match play for students who already have a working knowledge of Chess, which many of our students in Grades 5-8 already possess. These sessions are most appropriate for students who already know how to play Chess, as the entire hour will be dedicated to match play.

Students are welcome to bring their own chess set if they already possess one, pending parental permission. If not, a chess set will be provided. Our aim is to establish a competitive, consistent Chess Program in a safe and fun learning environment. If you are interested in attending upcoming Chess Club sessions, please fill out the form below!
