Children's Ministry

In order to develop an intrinsic Catholic spirit of service in our students, at SJS our Children's Ministry provides routine, consistent and active service projects. For example, every Tuesday after school, our students voluntarily visit a local nursing home where they interact with the residents; before holidays, classes of students visit a variety of settings to spread blessings and good cheer to those less fortunate. The deep happiness these projects provide can be seen on the faces of all of the participants, who continuously benefit! Our students and their families are very generous and participate in projects such as The Jesus Stockings, which provide warm socks, toiletries and letters of encouragement to the homeless of NYC. We donate money to a Catholic School in Nicaragua through our Mite Box Project. To honor our US Armed Forces, the children collect and send Care Packages to our troops overseas! These are just a few of the incredibly meaningful, memorable and exciting projects SJS students love to do!
